12 Days of Xmas

7th - 22nd December 2007
The Old Bridewell Police Station, Bristol, UK

12 DAYS OF XMAS was a group show featuring more than 70 of the world’s most loved & loathed contemporary urban artists, showcasing original work, prints, photography and installations. It was in possibly the most interesting venue to come up in years, Bristol's old central Police Station.

We wanted to put on a huge show showcasing urban, street & graffiti artists, both from Bristol & further field. The main motivation was twofold; A) to showcase this style of art because we believe it to be hugely exciting at the moment and B) to put on a successful show in a venue that suits this art much more than typical white walled galleries. The venue wasn't 'dressed up', we simply stuck pictures up where they fitted with little thought as to who should go next to who.

It was a huge success, with 72 artists showing, nearly 5,000 people visiting and lots of sales. And we managed to reach a really wide cross section of people viewing the show, definitely a much wider range than you see in the cities established art venues.
